Overview

The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG), Lesotho’s independent Supreme Audit Institution, is committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and value for money in the use of public resources. The institution achieves its mandate through high-quality audits and reports on the Government’s consolidated fund and public stores. OAG invites qualified local candidates to apply for the position of Personal Assistant to provide direct administrative and technical support to the Deputy Auditor-General (DAG).


Key Responsibilities

-Handle and safeguard the confidentiality of documents in the DAG’s office.

-Review and recommend revisions for documents submitted to the DAG.

-Manage incoming calls, emails, messages, and general correspondence.

-Maintain the DAG’s calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate events.

-Arrange logistics and refreshments for meetings and official functions.

-Provide timely reminders on tasks and deadlines.

-Scan, fax, and take notes as required.

-Develop and maintain an effective office filing system.

-Manage office access and receive visitors professionally.

-Coordinate travel, transport, and accommodation arrangements.

-Prepare and submit the DAG office’s budgetary requirements.

-Procure and manage office supplies.

-Uphold professional business etiquette in all engagements.


Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: BCom in Accounting or General Accountant qualification.
  • Knowledge Areas:
    • Office management and accounting procedures
    • Stakeholder and internal/external communication
    • Events and communication strategy management
    • IT communications systems
    • Public sector protocol and office administration

Skills and Competencies

-Proficiency in MS Office and English

-Strong organizational and time management abilities

-Excellent multitasking and prioritization capabilities

-Effective report writing and planning skills

-Logical analysis and project management knowledge

-Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
