Overview

First National Bank (FNB), a division of the FirstRand Group, is seeking a meticulous and client-focused Payroll Consultant to join the team in Maseru. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payrolls, maintaining effective client relationships, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and internal procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate data capture from payrolls onto client systems
  • Maintain and manage professional client relationships
  • Review, analyze, and verify payroll reports for accuracy; make necessary corrections via journal entries or established procedures
  • Complete forms for wage/salary adjustments or special case corrections
  • Resolve complex payroll-related inquiries from employees or external agency representatives
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of payroll procedures and policies
  • Prepare financial, tax, and payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct payroll training sessions for consultants on policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Liaise with government agencies on employee compensation and statutory deductions

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience in payroll administration and client service
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Solid understanding of payroll systems, tax, and labor regulations
  • Ability to coordinate training and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and use of payroll software
