Overview:

Mr Price Lesotho is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading daily store operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the achievement of store objectives, sales targets, exceptional customer service, and overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, an understanding of retail management, and a passion for team development.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Stock Management:

  • Oversee the accurate receiving, unpacking, and merchandising of stock.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels are maintained and monitored to reduce stock losses.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in the stockroom.
  • Approve write-offs, breakages, product recalls, and returns.

2. Sales Growth & Profitability:

  • Analyse store sales and profitability reports to inform operational action plans.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on product performance to the support centre.
  • Propose new initiatives to increase sales and enhance brand visibility.

3. Risk Management:

  • Perform regular compliance checks and enforce adherence to company policies and procedures.

4. Customer Experience Management:

  • Implement and monitor customer service processes to ensure high service standards.

5. Leadership & Development:

  • Motivate and guide the store team to achieve performance KPIs.
  • Identify staff training, coaching, and development needs.
  • Support succession planning and talent management.
  • Manage staff recruitment, administration, and performance in line with company guidelines.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (COSC) / Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) or equivalent qualification.
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant store management role.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, sales, and customer service.
  • Budgeting and expenditure monitoring skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the retail trade, brand standards, and customer expectations.
