Overview:

The Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development (MGYSD) is implementing the World Bank-funded Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods Project (PSLP), aimed at enhancing the efficiency and equity of Lesotho’s social assistance programs. As part of Component 3 of the project—focused on strengthening delivery systems—the Ministry seeks to appoint a Data Entry Clerk to support digital transformation efforts. This role involves capturing and processing sensitive beneficiary data to support the transition from manual to digital payments.


Key Responsibilities:

-Collect digital payment data from assigned pay points and prepare monthly and quarterly activity reports.

-Compile and sort beneficiary source documents for accurate data entry.

-Enter and update beneficiary information into the digital database.

-Verify, correct, and clean entered data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

-Cross-check data with systems such as NISSA and GOLSABS against information from payment service providers.

-Identify and eliminate duplicate records and ensure database integrity.

-Collaborate with Auxiliary Social Workers to follow up on failed payments and resolve issues.

-Generate and manage lists of failed payments and pending bank/mobile money accounts.

-Secure data by completing regular backups and maintaining strict confidentiality.

-Report operational issues and suggest process improvements to supervisors.

-Contribute to overall team objectives by meeting project deadlines and targets.


    Requirements and Skills:

    • Diploma in IT, Business Information Technology, Computer Studies, or related field.
    • 2–3 years of experience in data processing or related roles.
    • Proficiency in data entry applications and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Knowledge of English and local language(s) is essential.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
    • Understanding of data privacy, management systems, and record-keeping processes.
