Overview:
SUN JV, a subcontractor on the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) project, is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Environmental Control Officer. This position is vital to ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards throughout the construction and operational phases of the project. Successful candidates will play a key role in protecting and managing the environment within the designated work sites.
Key Responsibilities:
-Monitor and enforce environmental compliance with LHDA and local environmental policies.
-Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure environmental standards are maintained.
-Investigate and report environmental incidents and suggest mitigation measures.
-Provide guidance and training to site personnel on environmental best practices.
-Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental controls into daily operations.
-Prepare and maintain documentation related to environmental compliance and reporting.
Requirements and Skills:
-Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or mining industry.
-Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
-Excellent observation, analytical, and reporting skills.
-Ability to work independently and under pressure in remote environments.
-Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
