Overview:
SUN JV, a subcontractor on the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) Project, is seeking skilled and physically capable individuals to fill the role of Hand Drill Operator. This position is responsible for performing manual drilling tasks to assist in the excavation and construction process. The ideal candidates must be experienced in using handheld drilling equipment in construction or mining environments.
Key Responsibilities:
-Operate hand-held drilling machines to bore holes for blasting and other construction activities.
-Maintain and service drilling tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
-Follow drilling plans and instructions from supervisors.
-Observe all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
-Work in coordination with other team members on site to ensure drilling operations run smoothly.
-Record drilling activities and report any operational issues or hazards.
Requirements and Skills:
-Proven experience operating hand-held drilling equipment in construction or mining settings.
-Basic understanding of drilling and blasting principles.
-Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
-Awareness of site safety protocols and willingness to comply with strict safety standards.
-Team player with good communication skills.
-Ability to work in remote and rugged terrain for extended hours.
