Overview:
SUN JV, operating under the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) Project, is recruiting qualified and motivated Sous Chefs to support kitchen operations at project camps. The successful candidates will assist the Head Chef and Kitchen Supervisors in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Support the planning and preparation of meals according to project standards and dietary requirements.
-Supervise kitchen staff during meal preparation, cooking, and service.
-Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with hygiene and safety regulations.
-Assist with inventory management, including ordering and receiving kitchen supplies.
-Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
-Train junior kitchen staff and ensure proper execution of tasks.
-Stand in for the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor when required.
Requirements and Skills:
-Diploma or Certificate in Professional Cookery, Culinary Arts, or equivalent.
-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy commercial or industrial kitchen.
-Solid knowledge of kitchen operations, food hygiene, and health safety protocols.
-Ability to manage a kitchen team and work efficiently under pressure.
-Excellent cooking and food presentation skills.
-Strong communication and leadership abilities.
