Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd operates the Karowe Diamond Mine in Letlhakane, currently transitioning into underground operations. To support the ongoing development of the underground mine, we are seeking suitably qualified candidates to join our team. These positions are for a 36-month fixed-term contract.
Artisan Rigger
Overview:
The Artisan Rigger will report to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical. The role involves executing safe lifting operations, movement of heavy loads, and maintenance of lifting equipment, including winding equipment.
Responsibilities:
-Perform rigging and scaffold services.
-Maintain mechanical equipment.
-Conduct statutory inspections and load testing on lifting equipment.
-Operate mine machinery.
-Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
-BGCSE plus National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Rigging.
-Minimum of 5 years of practical experience, with at least 3 years in a mining or heavy industrial plant environment.
-Knowledge of lifting and rigging equipment.
-Valid Class B driver’s license.

- Experience with truck and mobile crane operations.
- Experience with winder ropes.
