Overview
We are seeking a skilled Driver for our Mechanised 20 Ton Truck operations. Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this permanent position requires an individual dedicated to delivering cost-effective customer service while adhering to safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cost-efficient delivery operations.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of stock.
- Communicate effectively with customers.
- Perform general administrative duties.
- Protect company property and assets.
- Occasionally supervise subordinates.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
- Load and off-load empty containers.
- Handle returns from customers.
- Sort stock and empties as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
Professional Experience and Personal Attributes
- Valid Code 14 (EC) License.
- Valid Professional Drivers Permit (PDP).
- 2-3 years of experience in a Transport Distribution environment.
- 2-3 years of experience driving a horse and trailer combination.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Good communication and customer relationship skills.
- Numerical aptitude.
- Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and public holidays.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Experience with the STRATO delivery app (advantageous).
