Introduction:
Metier Mixed Concrete (Pty) Ltd. is actively seeking two dynamic Diesel Mechanics for our Eastern Region in Durban. The chosen candidates will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of both mobile and fixed plant machinery, in line with Metier standards of excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks on concrete truck mixers, mixer units, concrete pump trucks, and wheel loaders.
- Ensure scheduled daily and monthly maintenance activities are completed on specified machinery.
- Conduct welding of various steel structures as needed.
- Undertake painting duties when required.
- Maintain hydraulic systems to ensure optimal functioning.
- Carry out maintenance tasks on fixed plant/batching plants as necessary.
- Take responsibility for the overall care and maintenance of company assets.
- Provide tire support for mobile plant operations.
- Supervise General Workers.
- Maintain conveyor belts, screw conveyors, and air compressors.
- Proactively plan repair work on concrete mixer units.
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12/N2, preferably N3 or higher technical qualification.
- At least five years of experience in general maintenance, preferably in a similar industry.
- Trade Test/National Qualification is preferred.
- Code EC or C (Code 14) Driver’s license is advantageous.
- Knowledge of auto-electrical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is essential.
