Job Title: Mail Clerk

Reports To: Assistant Controller
Job Purpose:
To process mail efficiently and ensure timely delivery to its intended destination within specified timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Mail Circulation:
-Handle all incoming and outgoing mail.
-Receive and enter mail matters into appropriate bills and books.
-Dispatch internal and international mail and parcels.
2. Guarantee Appropriate Mail Sorting:
-Sort letters using primary and secondary sorting frames.
-Organize letters for private bags and private boxes.
-Report any irregularities observed during mail sorting.
-Forward unclaimed letters to the Returned Letters Office (RLO).
-Inspect posted items for damages sustained during transit.
-Process unclaimed mail matters.
3. Process Transactions:
-Credit and debit customer accounts.
-Record transactions and reconcile them with cash balances.
-Process receipts and payments for money and postal orders.
4. Perform Retail Duties:
-Collect revenue.
-Process and balance transactions.
-Accept and deliver mail items to customers.
-Perform retail tasks on a rotational basis.

Job Specifications:
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Studies with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- OR: COSC qualification with 6 years of experience working as a Postal Clerk.
- Experience in postal services will be an added advantage.
