Overview:
Midas is seeking a motivated and reliable Driver to join our Menlyn branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe delivery of goods, ensuring compliance with all procedural guidelines, and maintaining high standards of vehicle upkeep.
Responsibilities:
–Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-departure and post-return vehicle inspections. Submit inspection lists to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for sign-off.
–Reporting: Immediately report any vehicle issues before departure. Notify the Dispatch Supervisor of any delivery or POD problems.
–Parcel Handling: Check parcels with the supervisor before loading, following the New Dispatch Loading procedure. Ensure all deliveries adhere to the route schedule and trip sheet.
–Customer Procedures: Ensure compliance with the POD (Proof of Delivery) procedure and the RFC (Return for Credit) procedure. Deliver all documents and collection slips as allocated, and ensure completion and return of trip sheets the following day.
–Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain and clean the vehicle, and promptly report any issues to the Dispatch Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
-Grade 12 or equivalent
-Minimum of 3 years’ delivery experience
-Valid driver’s license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit) – Essential
-Strong time management skills – Essential
