Overview
AECI Botswana is hiring an MMU Assistant to support safe and efficient operations of Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMUs) at Motheo Copper Mine. This role involves explosives handling, plant housekeeping, and operational support as per company standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
-Comply with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) policies
-Perform housekeeping duties around MMUs and plant areas
-Handle MMU hoses during charging operations
-Conduct on-bench explosives quality checks
-Act as a spotter for MMU operations
-Support MMU Operator with all operational duties
-Load and offload explosives at magazines
-Assist maintenance team with MMU breakdowns, calibrations, and servicing
Requirements
-Cambridge Oβ Level / BGCE certificate or equivalent
-Minimum 2 yearsβ experience in a PLTS (Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot) open pit environment
-Valid Class B Driverβs Licence
-Possession of Class C Driverβs Licence is an added advantage
-Valid Open Pit Blasting Licence
-Fluent in both Setswana and English
-Must be a Botswana Citizen
-Knowledge of and experience in AECI products is an added advantage
-Experience in open pit mining is advantageous
