Overview
We are seeking two experienced Drivers for a 5-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating light, heavy, and extra heavy-duty vehicles in accordance with company procedures and standards, under the direction of the Transport Supervisor.
Responsibilities
-Adhere to quality assurance and governance protocols.
-Participate in cost-saving initiatives within Mini Business Units by optimizing resource utilization.
-Conduct risk assessments before commencing any tasks as per policies and procedures.
-Perform pre-start and visual checks on vehicles (e.g., brakes, lights, oil, water, wheel nuts, licenses) and report any defects.
-Provide transport services on shift by driving various rigid and articulated vehicles (e.g., buses, combis, lowbed, flatbeds, tractors, light vehicles, trucks, bomag rollers).
-Follow planned transport schedules and handle ad-hoc trips as directed.
-Comply with company regulations and public road traffic laws.
-Maintain cleanliness and good running condition of vehicles by cleaning and servicing them regularly.
-Inspect buses and pool vehicles for compliance with standards.
-Complete all customs and immigration formalities for cross-border trips.
-Inspect and investigate vehicle checklists, identify anomalies, and take corrective actions.
-Ensure vehicle safety during trips and arrange for safe removal in case of breakdowns.
-Handle all administrative functions, including documenting vehicle defects, maintaining checklists, and adhering to operational and engineering procedures.
-Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies.
-Implement creative and innovative ideas to improve Mini Business Unit performance.
-Maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and customers to achieve unit objectives.
-Take responsibility for personal development and provide excellent service by applying skills and knowledge.
Requirements
-BGCSE or equivalent qualification.
-Minimum of 2 years of experience in a transport environment.
-Extra Heavy-Duty Driver’s License.
-PRDP Special – Buses.
-PRDP Goods.
