Job Description:
Lindsay Saker Bloemfontein is offering eligible candidates an Accredited Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) Apprenticeship. This program combines on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction under the guidance of a Qualified Motor Vehicle Mechanic. The theoretical, classroom-based education is provided by Imperial Technical Training Academy (ITTA), located in Ext 4, 16 Dakota Cres, Airport Park, Johannesburg, 1401.

Specific Role Responsibilities:
The CBMT contract with merSETA and a learnership contract with Lindsay Saker Kempton Park will be applicable, including all terms and conditions. CBMT Apprentices will receive MIBCO minimum wages.

Training Program:

  • Levels 1 – 4: 4-year contract
  • 5 days in 5 weeks training at ITTA
  • Distance learning program – CDX: This program enhances apprentice training through interactive demonstrations, tutorials, quizzes, and practical exercises delivered via the web at their place of work and at home during study time.
  • Computer-based testing and examination
  • Practical competency testing
  • MIBCO
  • Lindsay Saker Bloemfontein Service department on-the-job experience aligned to the level of competence achieved through the CBMT program. Apprentices will gather evidence to complete their portfolio of evidence as required by ITTA. This includes working alongside an assigned technician to learn how to perform quality service maintenance and repairs to the original manufacturers’ description.

Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must have the following qualifications to be considered:

  • Matric (N2 with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English – 50% are essential)
  • Driver’s license
  • Computer literacy
  • Successful completion of a mechanical insight test
  • Standard background checks and medical assessment to establish fitness for work
  • Successful candidates will undergo a Psychometric assessment and a face-to-face interview.
