Key Responsibilities

-Welcome customers using the standard greeting and assist with product locations, features, and benefits.

-Execute POS support (for Checkout Assistants): packing at tills, bagging, and queue support.

–Shelf packing & merchandising: face up, rotate stock, remove expired/damaged items; maintain correct price labels.

–Service counters (Bakery/Butchery/Deli/Fruit & Veg/Cheese): prepare, portion, pack, and present products to standard; maintain cold chain and temperature checks.

–Warehouse/Stockroom: receive, check, store, and issue stock; keep accurate back-of-house organisation and records.

-Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards across floor and back-up areas.

-Prevent shrinkage/wastage and follow security procedures.

-Escalate customer complaints via the defined process and support team communication.

Requirements & Skills

-Hard-working, reliable, and able to work shopping-mall retail hours (weekends/public holidays/shifts).

–Proficient in English with clear, friendly communication; additional SA languages advantageous.

-Customer-centric with outstanding service orientation and interpersonal skills.

-Organised, detail-driven, and able to work under pressure.

-Team player who follows instructions and established SOPs; self-motivated with a growth mindset.

-Alignment with company values and professional conduct standards.

Role-specific notes:

–Blockman/Butchery: prior knife/portioning experience and cold-chain discipline are advantageous.

–Service Areas/Production: food-handling and temperature control knowledge preferred.

–Warehouse/Stockroom: basic handling/lifting ability; inventory discipline.

Minimum Qualification

–Grade 10 or higher (Matric/Grade 12 advantageous).

-No prior retail experience required for entry-level roles; training provided. Experience is advantageous for Blockman and certain service-counter roles.
