Job Opportunity: Operator I Raise Drilling

Overview:
Cementation is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of Operator I Raise Drilling at Dishaba Mine near Northam, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Supervisor Raise Drilling.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safe and efficient underground excavations using large and small Raise Bore machines to meet production targets.
- Supervise team’s daily tasks effectively.
- Contain costs through the safe and effective use of raise bore drilling machines, adhering to OEM specifications.
- Conduct morning meetings and complete relevant checklists and risk/safety documents as required.
- Ensure compliance with M&RC’s standards, policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Engage stakeholders effectively to ensure smooth workflows.
- Manage self and team effectively, aligning with M&RC’s values and leadership initiatives.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Certified as competent B.
- Certified competent as a Raise Drilling Operator.
- Engineering Trade Certificate (advantageous).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
Work Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience operating a raise drilling machine on a raise drilling operation.
- Ability to supervise a team and complete administrative requirements (reporting, checklists, safety documentation).
- Understanding of baseline risk assessment with the ability to complete an issue-based risk assessment independently.
