1. Production Supervisor (Mpumalanga)
Location: Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite, Madadeni, Mpumalanga
Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Competent A certificate.
- At least 3 years’ experience managing duties in Opencast Mining with a site capacity of over 300 k BCM/month.
- Legal Liability certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- Able to work under pressure and solve operational challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including overtime when necessary.
- Must be medically fit as per Occupational Medical Practitioner’s guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and policies, aiming for Zero Harm.
- Supervise production shifts, ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe declaration of the pit before each shift.
- Oversee daily production processes, manage shift startups and shutdowns, and conduct safety meetings.
- Respond to emergencies, analyze and resolve defects, and report incidents to management.
- Provide on-the-job training to production staff.
- Identify areas for process improvement and collaborate with management to implement changes.

2. Environmental Specialist (Lyttelton)
Location: Afrimat Shared Services, Lyttelton
Afrimat is looking for an experienced Environmental Specialist to join its team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Management or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within mining, consulting, or government sectors.
- Strong regional and local knowledge is preferred.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Preference will be given to EE candidates with relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA/EMP) and basic assessments.
- Prepare reports for Environmental Authorization under NEMA/MPRDA and integrate with other relevant regulations.
- Design and implement field investigations to analyze environmental data.
- Develop and manage rehabilitation and mine closure plans.
- Write technical reports on noise, dust, water quality, and hydrocarbon monitoring.
- Manage public participation processes and liaise with regulatory bodies like DMRE, ASPASA, and local government.

Minimum Requirements:
- Trade certificate in Fitting and Turning.
- N2 Certificate in Fitting and Turning.
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in process plants, ideally within aggregates crushing and screening.
- Computer literacy and ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Experience with plant maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Foreman to address plant breakdowns.
- Repair or replace defective equipment using hand and power tools.
- Perform maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain and repair crushers, conveyors, pumps, and related plant equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and legislation.
- Conduct regular inspections and report findings to ensure plant safety and efficiency.
