Part-time Administrator

Location: Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Eastern Cape (Preferred)

Contract Type: 6-month fixed-term contract (Renewable subject to performance and funding)

Overview: INSPIRE (Initiative for Social Performance in Renewable Energy) is committed to enhancing social performance within South Africa’s renewable energy sector. Since its inception in 2021, INSPIRE has focused on capacity building, best practices, and leadership development to support a just transition. The organization partners with key stakeholders to implement training, research, and community engagement initiatives, driving positive impacts in the renewable energy industry both locally and globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide part-time administrative support (up to 20 hours per week) to the management team.
  • Assist the Managing Director with travel arrangements, project follow-ups, and communication tasks.
  • Track funder project reporting requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate logistical needs for projects in collaboration with finance and project teams.
  • Support project event organization, including venue searches, stakeholder engagements, and RSVPs.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as uploading expense slips, tracking timesheets, and verifying insurance requirements.
  • Attend online management meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences.
  • 3 to 5 years of senior administrative experience, preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Interest in renewable energy, social impact, and sustainable development.
  • Access to own office infrastructure (laptop).

Health Systems Strengthening Director

Location: South Africa

Overview: Ilifa Labantwana is dedicated to promoting quality early childhood development (ECD) in South Africa, fostering sustainable livelihoods for women, and building a prosperous and equitable society. Leveraging technical expertise, evidence, and advocacy, Ilifa strengthens the ECD ecosystem to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a health systems strategy prioritizing pregnant women and children under two years old.
  • Build a national support system for young children, parents, caregivers, and the workforce.
  • Foster strategic relationships with government stakeholders, civil society, the private sector, and donors.
  • Lead the Side-by-Side campaign in collaboration with the National Department of Health, enhancing its impact through research, partnerships, and innovative communication strategies.
  • Develop and implement systems to scale maternal and child health interventions.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of public health systems, particularly maternal and child health.
  • Proven experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and health information systems.

Overview: People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA) is a feminist, women’s rights organization founded in 1979, offering a range of services to support abused women, including counseling, shelter, skills development, legal services, and advocacy. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all POWA operations, reporting to the Board.

Projects Manager

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Salary: R50,000 – R60,000 CTC per month (depending on experience)
