Job Title: Apprentice – Technical Trade Training
Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice in our Technical Trade Training program, you will be responsible for the following:
- Attend theoretical classes at an accredited provider to gain a solid understanding of the designated trade.
- Participate in on-site plant training to acquire practical skills and hands-on experience.
- Complete the curriculum for the designated trade according to the schedule prescribed by the Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA).
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (Maths Literacy NOT accepted).
- Technical trade-related subjects would be advantageous.
- N3 Certificate with relevant subjects including Mathematics, Engineering Science, Trade Theory, and a fourth subject as required by the specific trade.
- Technical trade theory program quality assured by a SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) deemed to be equivalent to NQF level 3.
- A relevant Engineering NCV Certificate with seven subjects at NQF level.

In addition to meeting the educational requirements, the successful candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
- Medically fit for the demands of the job.
- Age 18 years and over.
- Ideally suited for individuals without dependents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adhere to academic guidelines and follow instructions.
- Willingness to conform to rigid standards of performance.
- High energy levels and self-motivation.
- Ability to produce work of high quality.
- High levels of concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and carefully, especially in a technical environment.
- Willingness to stay up-to-date with advances in techniques and equipment related to the trade.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.
