Job Summary
The Ophthalmic Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with eye-related conditions. This includes diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders such as cataracts, glaucoma, eye trauma, and partial or full blindness. The role involves close collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
-Assess, diagnose, and provide nursing care for patients with eye disorders
-Gather and review patientsβ medical histories and conduct eye health assessments
-Assist in the treatment and management of ophthalmic conditions
-Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as required
-Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and post-care requirements
-Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
-Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing
-Minimum of two (2) yearsβ experience in an ophthalmic nursing environment
-Registered with the Lesotho Nursing Council
