Job Title: Refuse Collector
Location: Palapye District Council – Palapye Village

Job Overview:
Palapye District Council is seeking qualified and dedicated individuals to join our team as Refuse Collectors. This position is open exclusively to Palapye residents and involves maintaining cleanliness within designated areas by collecting and disposing of refuse in accordance with public health standards.
Responsibilities:
-Collect refuse in designated areas within the council’s jurisdiction.
-Remove and dispose of dead animals within the council areas.
-Maintain refuse disposal sites by burning combustible refuse and ensuring proper burial of incombustible waste.
-Assist in clearing weeds, cutting trees, and general site maintenance.
-Distribute food seized and condemned by health inspectors.
-Routinely wash and maintain refuse trucks.
-Dispose of waste following Public Health Act provisions.
-Segregate waste appropriately and direct waste-carrying vehicles to proper landfill locations.
-Undertake any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Skills:
–Qualification: Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) or Junior Certificate (JC).
–Experience: No prior experience required.
-Must be a resident of Palapye (proof of residence from Kgosi required).
-Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
-Understanding of basic waste management principles.
-Willingness to work outdoors under varying weather conditions.
Benefits:
