Job Overview
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Code 14 Driver with Moffett Mounted Forklift experience to join our team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a heavy-duty truck, transporting goods safely, and loading/unloading cargo using a Moffett mounted forklift. This role requires strict adherence to road safety regulations, company protocols, and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation
-Operate a Code 14 truck with a manual or automatic transmission for safe and timely deliveries.
-Plan and follow the most efficient transport routes while adhering to safety regulations.
-Conduct daily vehicle inspections, completing reports before departure.
-Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or safety concerns to the Fleet Supervisor immediately.
Moffett Mounted Forklift Operations
-Safely operate a Moffett mounted forklift to load and unload cargo at customer sites.
-Ensure the proper handling and securing of materials to prevent damage during transportation.
-Perform regular maintenance checks on the forklift and report any mechanical issues.
Safety & Compliance
-Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and road safety standards.
-Secure and fasten loads according to safety protocols to prevent shifting during transport.
-Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle and equipment.
Customer Interaction
-Provide excellent customer service, acting as a professional representative of the company.
-Communicate delivery schedules and any potential delays with customers.
-Ensure that all deliveries are completed on time and as per customer requirements.
Requirements & Skills
–Valid Code 14 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
–Valid Moffett Mounted Forklift Operator Certificate.
-Proven experience operating a Moffett mounted forklift and handling heavy machinery.
-Strong knowledge of road safety, traffic regulations, and logistics best practices.
-Physically fit and capable of handling heavy lifting and loading/unloading tasks.
–Excellent communication and customer service skills.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
–Clear criminal record.
-Previous experience in goods delivery.
–Matric / Grade 12 qualification is required.
