Overview:
Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is seeking qualified Reach Truck Drivers to join our team in Port Elizabeth. This is a full-time, temporary position offering competitive remuneration between R10,000 and R13,891 per month.
Responsibilities:
Product Movement:
- Utilize scanners to ensure products are moved to the correct location.
- Ensure all pallets have a pallet number before being relocated.
- Use the computerized scanning system to reallocate moved products to their new locations.
- Report incorrectly located goods to the supervisor for correction.
- Move products to and from storage locations efficiently and safely, maintaining required temperatures and preventing damage.
- Store goods from the same container in the same aisle.
- Complete daily worksheets.
Reach Truck Maintenance:
- Conduct daily inspections of the reach truck (wheels, horns, lights, warning lights, brakes, forks, battery, seat, oil leaks).
- Report any observable faults to the supervisor immediately.
Health and Safety:
- Follow safe operating procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), machinery handling procedures, and material safety data sheets.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and report any accidents to the manager.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Ability to work in cold conditions.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
- Good communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in operating a handheld scanner.
- Basic literacy skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and assist other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Possession of a current Reach Truck Certificate of Competency.
- Minimum of 2 years of similar experience.
- Must reside in Port Elizabeth.
