Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Driver – Heavy Motor Vehicle to join our team at the Kempton Park site. This permanent position offers a market-related salary within the supply chain industry. The ideal candidate will have a heavy or public service vehicle license and experience driving heavy motor vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Assist and supervise the loading of the delivery vehicle.
- Verify that all loaded goods match the Delivery Notes and sign for load acceptance.
- Check goods during unloading with the customer against the Delivery Note and obtain the customer’s signature as Proof of Delivery.
- Collect returns as specified on Goods Return Vouchers (GRVs) as required.
- Submit all goods and GRVs to the Depot/Stores/Despatch Supervisor upon returning to the Warehouse.
- Perform daily and weekly vehicle checks per the company’s Vehicle Check List, noting any issues before leaving the Warehouse.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition at all times.
- Report any defects or suspected defects promptly to the Depot/Stores/Despatch Supervisor.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (essential)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License (essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- At least 2 years of experience as a delivery assistant (essential)
