Overview
Starke Ayres, a leading African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower, and lawn seed varieties, is seeking a dedicated General Worker. This permanent position is based in Kempton Park and involves assisting with the packing of various seed varieties according to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsibilities
–Packing: Receive and confirm seed lots for packing, ensuring the type and quantities match job card information.
–Verification: Check and verify the quantities, kinds, varieties, and lot numbers of received seeds.
–Weighing: Accurately weigh containers as per prescribed procedures.
–Labeling: Close and label containers/bags of processed seeds.
–Stacking: Stack and pack containers/bags following prescribed procedures.
–Sealing: Assist with sealing processed seeds when applicable.
–Equipment Operation: Operate treatment equipment after settings are finalized by the Supervisor.
–Cleaning: Clean equipment before and after use to maintain hygiene standards.
–Documentation: Present job cards to the Supervisor for approval and sign-off before proceeding to the next process step.
–Compliance: Follow all work instructions, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety legislation, including Standard Operating Procedures.
–Other Tasks: Undertake additional reasonable tasks as requested by the Supervisor or other superiors.
Requirements
–Education: Grade 12 (essential)
–Experience: Previous general worker experience (advantageous)
