Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Code 14 Truck Driver with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will ensure safe and efficient loading, driving, and unloading of trucks and products. This role requires strict adherence to company standards and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
Load Management:
- Prepare, inspect, and secure loads.
- Record and manage load weights, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before departure.
Route Adherence:
- Travel on authorized routes.
- Report and record any route deviations, incidents, and accidents.
Trip Management:
- Manage diesel fill-ups and fuel consumption.
- Record scheduled and unscheduled stops.
- Handle fatigue management and job card recording.
- Report and record incidents, accidents, and driver violations.
Maintenance:
- Check tyre pressures, suspension, airbags, and air leaks.
- Ensure lights, fire extinguisher, pipes, fittings, wheel nuts, covers, mud flaps, wipers, mirrors, horn, brakes, camera equipment, and the 5th wheel are in working condition.
- Submit job card requests for any issues.
Inspections:
- Conduct daily, weekly, and ad-hoc inspections.
- Maintain truck cleanliness.
Personal Safety:
- Manage driver wellness and fatigue.
- Wear correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure safe working practices.
Requirements:
- Matric
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with PDP
- Knowledge of load and trip management
- Understanding of maintenance and inspections
- Commitment to driver wellness and customer service
