Overview

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Mixer Driver to join our team in Roodepoort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering concrete to both industrial and residential areas, ensuring the vehicle and equipment are properly maintained and clean. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high safety standards and delivering superior customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation & Maintenance:
    • Safely operate the mixer truck to deliver concrete to various locations, including sites with uneven terrain.
    • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and mixer, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
    • Clean the vehicle, ensuring both the interior and exterior are maintained in excellent condition.
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks and grease the necessary parts of the mixer and vehicle.
  • Delivery & Customer Interaction:
    • Ensure the mixer is properly loaded and all extension chutes are secured.
    • Follow manufacturer specifications during pouring operations, including using handling equipment and attaching extension chutes.
    • Plan delivery routes and ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
    • Complete and verify delivery documentation, collecting necessary copies as required.
    • Maintain positive relationships with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to traffic rules, regulations, and company policies, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.
    • Identify workplace hazards and follow safety procedures to minimize risks.
    • Use and maintain company-issued personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Uphold a high level of responsibility, integrity, and work ethics.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar driving role.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to drive various types of vehicles, including Straight/Auto, semi-auto, and Split gearbox trucks.
    • Management and supervisory skills are an advantage.
  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s License.
    • Public Driver’s Permit (PrDP).
