Premier Wheat Mill, a leader in the milling industry, is offering a dynamic career opportunity in our Production Department through a comprehensive 3-year apprenticeship program. This program blends theoretical self-learning with hands-on practical application training in a real milling environment, including working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Complete theoretical courses through SAGMA while actively engaging in practical work within the milling environment.
- Work in designated areas aligned with your learning modules, gaining hands-on experience and translating theoretical knowledge into practical understanding.
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of key competencies in each department, fostering a holistic comprehension of the milling supply chain.
- Under the guidance of the Production Manager/Head Miller, learn to operate a mill at designated capacity, ensuring optimum extractions and producing finished products suitable for human consumption.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (not older than 2 years):
- Mathematics (not Maths Literacy): 60% and above
- Physical Science: 60% and above
- No prior experience needed
Skills and Competencies:
- Curious mindset with strong problem-solving (reasoning) skills.
- Ability to thrive in a pressurized environment.
- Team player with the capability to work under minimal supervision.
- Enjoyment and understanding of working with mechanical systems; technically inclined.
- Process orientation and a mindset for continuous process improvement.
