Overview:
The Salesman Driver role is integral to driving service delivery and boosting bakery sales growth. This position focuses on ensuring timely, accurate deliveries of products to meet customer requirements, managing daily sales asset operations, and collecting payments. Working within a fast-paced and pressurised environment, you will be responsible for building strong trade relationships and contributing to the overall success of the sales team.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely Deliveries:
    • Ensure on-time and in full deliveries of bakery products as per customer requirements.
    • Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently.
  • Sales Support & Asset Management:
    • Collect payments from customers and manage daily sales asset operations.
    • Foster strong relationships with trade partners to support sales growth.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Present and communicate information effectively to customers at all levels.
    • Utilize persuasive and influencing skills to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • General Work Duties:
    • Adapt to working in alternative areas as required by the business.
    • Maintain performance under a pressurised environment and adhere to a 6-day work schedule, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays as per business needs.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Educational Requirement:
    • Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
  • Licensing:
    • Valid Driver’s License (code 10/C1) with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) that is 3 years old or more.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years’ experience in a sales or retail environment.
  • Key Skills & Attributes:
    • Ability to build and maintain strong trade relationships.
    • Excellent persuasive and influencing abilities.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.
    • Good people management skills.
    • Self-motivated, responsible, and results-driven.
    • Strong verbal and numerical skills combined with assertiveness.
