Overview
Premier Meadowview Depot is seeking a dedicated and experienced Trainer Driver to join our Transport Department. This permanent position is crucial in assessing, training, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of drivers in the Milling Division.
Key Responsibilities
-Assess and screen new drivers in the Milling Division to ensure they meet company standards.
-Train new drivers and provide ongoing training for current drivers in the Milling Division.
-Implement defensive driving training programs.
-Establish and enforce driver and vehicle safety procedures.
-Maintain and file driver documentation accurately.
-Upskill and certify Sales Assistants for the Inland region.
-Prepare and submit monthly reports.
-Conduct accident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
-Assess and evaluate high-risk drivers in the Inland region.
-Ensure timely updates of licenses and Professional Driving Permits (PDPs).
-Act as the company representative for truck licenses and manage traffic fines.
-Engage with drivers regarding speeding reports and implement corrective actions.
Qualification Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of general office administration experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in driver training and assessment.
- Proficient in data capturing, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and report writing.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in driver and vehicle safety.
- Experience in accident investigations.
- Familiarity with employee relations and disciplinary procedures.
- 5 years of experience holding a valid Code 14 driver’s license and a valid PDP.
