Department: Bulk Water Services – Operations
Rand Water is seeking six (6) General Workers to assist with the cleaning and maintenance of Sewer Pump Stations and Wastewater Treatment facilities. Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and reporting any operational issues to the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
-Sign the Pump Station Register during each visit
-Conduct weekly inspections of the Pump Station
-Sweep and wash floors and walls as required
-Dust electrical panels weekly
-Wash handrails weekly
-Remove all litter and dispose of it in designated bins
-Maintain the garden at the Pump Stations, including grass cutting and general yard cleanliness
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Prior experience working at a Sewer Pump Station
- Physically and medically fit
Required Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of Sewer Pump Station operations
- Awareness of hygiene standards and safety procedures
Skills:
- Effective communication (listening and verbal)
- Strong housekeeping skills
Attitude:
- Safety-conscious
- Cooperative and able to maintain good working relationships
- Willingness to work overtime and assist during shifts
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with prior Sewer Pump Station experience who are safety-conscious and looking for short-term contract work.
