Overview:
SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a temporary Code 10 Driver with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) to join our Engineering Department. This role is essential for supporting departmental operations, ensuring the efficient transportation of materials and equipment. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious individual with hands-on experience who can adapt to challenging conditions and meet our high standards of operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
-Safely navigate through the greater Cape Town area.
-Load and offload various materials and equipment.
-Deliver and collect items and materials between internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and clients.
-Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any faults.
-Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and company policies.
-Maintain safety on the road, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
-Uphold the safety of other road users and operate the vehicle responsibly.
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
- Valid, unendorsed Code 10 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least 5 years of Code 10 driving experience.
- A practical, hands-on approach to the role.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work under challenging conditions.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
- Good physical health.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Sober habits and a professional attitude.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6-month contract.
- Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 17:00
- Friday: 07:30 – 16:00
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
