Overview
SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced and professional Code 14 Driver to join the Production Transport Team. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, committed to safety, and possess a strong work ethic. This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager and requires a candidate who is motivated, reliable, and capable of working long hours when necessary.
Responsibilities
-Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults.
-Load and offload various recyclable materials safely and efficiently.
-Ensure the safety of other road users while operating the vehicle.
-Strictly adhere to the National Road Traffic Act and all traffic regulations.
-Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.
-Work long hours and overtime when required.
-Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of company vehicles.
Requirements
-Valid, unendorsed Code 14 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PRDP).
-Minimum of five years’ experience as a Code 14 Driver.
-Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and overnight stays when required.
-Good communication skills (ability to speak, read, and write in English).
-Must be in good health and physically capable of handling the job’s demands.
-A hands-on, practical approach to the role.
-Strong customer service skills and professional conduct.
-Sober habits and a commitment to safety and responsibility.
