Overview:

Tataki Mine, one of Botswana’s newest and strategically significant mining operations, is seeking a qualified Safety Officer to oversee fire safety, first aid, and occupational health protocols. This role is critical in creating and maintaining a safe and secure working environment for all personnel entering the mining site.


Key Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement safety, health, fire safety, and first aid programs and training.

-Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure a compliant and hazard-free workplace.

-Promote and enforce health and safety policies in line with mine regulations and international best practices.

-Conduct incident investigations and compile reports with recommendations for corrective action.

-Coordinate first aid readiness and response across all operational sites.

-Manage fire safety systems and ensure proper maintenance and compliance.

-Liaise with external health and safety authorities as required.

-Continuously educate and train personnel on health and safety protocols.


Minimum Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Fire Safety, or a related field.

-Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a safety, fire, or health-related role within the mining or heavy industry environment.

-Registration with a recognized professional safety body is an added advantage.

-Strong understanding of Botswana’s Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) legislation.

-Excellent communication, investigation, and training skills.

-Ability to work independently and under pressure in a high-risk environment.
