Overview
The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for skilled Panel Beaters to join the Mechanical Services unit at various SAPS Garage. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle bodywork to ensure that SAPS vehicles are maintained to the required operational standards.
Responsibilities
-Strip vehicles to identify and diagnose defects.
-Determine and compile a list of required spare parts.
-Ensure that the correct parts are received and assembled.
-Complete detailed job cards and present them, along with the vehicle, to the technical advisor.
Requirements
- Generic Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Proficient in at least two official languages, with one being English.
- Hold a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
- No previous criminal or departmental convictions, and no pending cases.
- No visible tattoos when wearing the SAPS uniform.
- Successful candidates will undergo a vetting process, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid Trade Test Certificate in Panel Beating (as per the Skills Development Amendment Act 37/2008).
- Experience in panel beating or a related field is advantageous.
