Overview

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is seeking qualified Spray Painters to join the Mechanical Services team at various SAPS Garage. The selected candidates will be responsible for preparing and respraying SAPS vehicles, ensuring they meet the necessary standards for operational readiness.

Responsibilities

-Prepare and mix paint according to specifications.

-Respray various SAPS vehicles as required.

-Remove and dispose of unserviceable parts.

-Clean tools and equipment after use.

-Ensure a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

  • Generic Requirements:
    • Must be a South African citizen.
    • Proficient in at least two official languages, with one being English.
    • Possess a valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
    • No previous criminal or departmental convictions, and no pending cases.
    • No visible tattoos when wearing the SAPS uniform.
    • Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process, including security screening and fingerprint verification.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid Trade Test Certificate in Spray Painting (as per the Skills Development Amendment Act 37/2008).
    • Experience in spray painting or a related field is advantageous.
