Purpose of the Role

Provide support in daily laboratory operations, including transporting samples, managing waste disposal, general cleaning, and assisting with experiments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and attend relevant safety training as required.

Sample Management: Safely transport samples within Sasolburg and facilitate sample logistics for clients.

Inventory and Supplies: Deliver and collect laboratory consumables, replace gas cylinders as needed, and notify lab administrator for restocking.

Laboratory Support: Assist Research and Development teams with lab tasks, perform cleaning duties, and maintain good housekeeping practices.

Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure lab vehicle maintenance including refueling, checking tyre pressure, and other necessary inspections.

Waste Disposal: Dispose of lab waste (e.g., glass, metal, plastic) according to safe work procedures.

Relationship Building: Foster a collaborative work environment and maintain positive relationships with lab staff.

Professional Development: Enhance skills and knowledge through continuous improvement and by tracking your personal development plan.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Matric or equivalent with Maths and Science.

Experience: Entry-level (0+ years of relevant experience).

Additional: Valid Code 08 Driver’s License.
