Overview
Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) invites applications for the Sector Specific Trainee (SST) Programme at Durban Terminals. This 12-month, work-integrated learning opportunity is designed for students and recent graduates to gain practical workplace experience, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks that enhance employability.
Key Responsibilities
–Task Execution: Assist on departmental projects and perform routine operational tasks under supervision; support documentation and reporting.
–Learning & Development: Attend training sessions and workshops; shadow experienced professionals; engage in problem-solving activities to build analytical skills.
–Communication & Collaboration: Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and project progress; collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
–Compliance & Safety: Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety regulations, and ethical standards; maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times.
Requirements & Skills
–Minimum Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
–Advantageous: TVET N6 in Logistics/Transport.
–Age: Youth 18β35 years.
–Competencies: Interpersonal and relationship-building, conflict management, effective writing, attention to detail, service orientation, integrity, can-do attitude, ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
–Technical: Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
–Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to learning.
