Overview

The Eastern Cape Department of Education is seeking 18 qualified individuals to fill the roles of Senior Housekeeping Supervisors at various schools in the province. These positions are ideal for candidates with a Grade 9 qualification and prior experience working with learners. Successful candidates will oversee housekeeping operations, ensuring a clean and safe environment for learners and staff.


Responsibilities

As a Senior Housekeeping Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

-Overseeing and coordinating housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness in classrooms, hostels, and communal areas.

-Monitoring cleaning schedules and ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.

-Assisting in the preparation of facilities for school activities and events.

-Supervising the use and storage of cleaning materials and equipment.

-Supporting the well-being of learners by ensuring a safe and clean environment.

-Reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards to relevant personnel.

-Training and mentoring housekeeping staff to improve efficiency and quality.


Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum of Grade 9.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in housekeeping or similar roles.
    • Demonstrated experience working with learners in an educational or similar environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
    • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and materials.
    • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
