Position Overview
Senwes Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Driver to join the Mechanisation division. The primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and safe transportation of stock to various outlets, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in top condition, supporting smooth and timely delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation
-Perform general transportation tasks as assigned by the branch manager.
-Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to designated locations.
-Secure loads properly to ensure safe transportation.
-Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
-Submit daily documentation, including invoices and fuel slips.
-Maintain correct tyre pressure and ensure vehicle license is up to date and visible.
-Safely park and store the vehicle.
-Assist with additional driving tasks as needed.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Report on the vehicle’s performance and any issues.
- Manage delivery-related documents, such as invoices, fuel slips, and accident reports.
Distribution and Delivery of Stock
- Verify and load the correct products onto the vehicle.
- Safely load and unload products.
- Collect mail and parcels when necessary.
- Obtain signed proof of delivery for all goods.
- Deposit any received cash on a daily basis.
General Stock Handling
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Provide support with other tasks as directed by management.
Job Requirements
- Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Effective planning, organizing, and attention to detail.
- Sound decision-making skills.
