Overview
Clicks is currently looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Shop Assistant / Cashier to join our store teams in Umhlanga and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will contribute to delivering an exceptional shopping experience by performing operational tasks efficiently and offering excellent customer service at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities
-Process all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately and promptly.
-Promote and enroll customers into the Clicks ClubCard programme to reach participation targets.
-Ensure safe and secure handling of cash at all times.
-Inform customers of current promotions to drive sales.
-Maintain in-store merchandising and uphold store cleanliness and presentation standards.
-Serve as a visible brand ambassador by providing helpful, courteous, and professional service.
-Stay informed on product ranges, promotions, and in-store events.
-Contribute to achieving the storeβs overall customer satisfaction and sales targets.
Requirements
Education:
-Essential: Grade 12
-Desirable: Minimum 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level
Experience:
-Experience in a retail or FMCG customer service environment is an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
-Basic maths skills and numeracy
-Understanding of merchandising, promotions, and stock control
-Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
-Excellent communication and customer orientation
-Computer literacy
