Overview

Shoprite is seeking a proactive and personable People Delivery Assistant to join our team in Centurion. This role is essential in providing efficient human resources support to branches and regional management within the division. The successful candidate will assist the Divisional People Partner and Regional People Partners in delivering effective HR services while also managing various administrative tasks and supporting employee engagement initiatives.


Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the People Delivery Assistant include:

-Performing administrative tasks such as maintaining the employee database and providing clerical support to the HR department.

-Compiling and updating HR documents as required.

-Maintaining accurate records and filing systems for auditing and reference purposes.

-Preparing monthly management and staff training attendance registers.

-Generating weekly reports and conducting audits.

-Addressing ad hoc HR queries and performing related duties (e.g., leave and pay queries, employee benefits, headcount reconciliation).

-Coordinating the distribution of uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE).

-Organizing employee engagement activities and events (e.g., long service awards, training sessions, appreciation meals).

-Assisting with employee engagement initiatives.

-Performing other duties as required by the HR team.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field (essential).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in an HR administrative or assistant role with exposure to various aspects of the HR employee lifecycle, including HR support and service delivery.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of human resources legislation, policies, practices, and strategies.
  • Proficient in using MS Office, email, and related business tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills.
