Overview
Vodacom Lesotho is looking for an experienced and innovative Specialist: Cyber Defense to join its Cyber Security team. This role is instrumental in securing Vodacomβs digital infrastructure by proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats and responding to incidents in real time. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Vodacom Group teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to enhance cyber defense capabilities and ensure a secure digital future for Vodacom customers.
Role Purpose
The Cyber Defense teamβs mission is to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end cyber defense service. This includes threat detection, vulnerability management, incident response, and security enhancement initiatives aimed at minimizing service impact and promoting operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
-Proactively prevent and reactively respond to cybersecurity incidents.
-Build, maintain, and support CHARM (Cyber Hygiene and Risk Management) requirements.
-Implement, upgrade, and maintain security logging and monitoring tools.
-Manage security incidents in accordance with Vodacom’s Security Incident Management process.
-Develop and optimize cyber defense policies, standards, and procedures.
-Address findings from risk assessments, audits, and security reviews.
-Track and report on KPIs, KRIs, and incident closure rates including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) incidents.
-Lead vulnerability management processes (e.g., CSAN, Penetration Testing programs).
-Contribute to DevSecOps and application security efforts.
-Conduct cyber threat modeling to anticipate and mitigate risks.
Required Competencies
- Strong experience in Cyber SOC operations, intrusion analysis, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Privileged Access Management tools such as CyberArk.
- Proficient with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
- Solid project management and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to engage in reverse engineering and threat intelligence analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Systems & Networks, Electronics, Information Engineering, Computer Science, or Statistics.
- Advanced competencies in network and/or endpoint security are a strong advantage.
