Overview:

An exciting opportunity has become available for Heavy Motor Vehicle Drivers at Starke Ayres, part of Plennegy (Pty) Ltd, located in Kempton Park. The primary purpose of this role is to drive heavy motor vehicles, ensuring the safe and timely collection and delivery of goods to various locations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for routine vehicle maintenance and accurate record-keeping of deliveries.

Responsibilities:

-Assist and supervise the loading of goods onto the delivery vehicle.

-Verify that all loaded goods match the Delivery Notes and sign for acceptance of the load.

-Offload goods at customer locations, verifying them against the Delivery Note, and obtain customer signatures as Proof of Delivery.

-Collect returned goods as indicated on the Goods Return Voucher (GRV) when necessary.

  • Submit all collected goods and GRVs to the Depot/Stores/Dispatch Supervisor upon returning to the warehouse.
  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per the company’s Vehicle Checklist and report any issues before leaving the warehouse.
  • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, promptly reporting any defects or concerns to the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
  • License: Valid Code 10 Driver’s License is essential.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a delivery assistant.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
