Overview
Jhpiego, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and with support from the Global Fund, is implementing a multi-sectoral partnership project aimed at enhancing access to HIV and TB prevention, care, and treatment across Lesotho’s 10 districts. This initiative seeks to intensify TB case detection, reduce delays in diagnosis, and minimize TB transmission in communities, schools, prisons, and workplaces.

Jhpiego is looking for committed and proactive individuals to serve as TB Contact Tracers, who will play a critical role in identifying TB cases, conducting contact tracing, and ensuring individuals are linked to care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

-Trace confirmed TB cases and screen their family members and other contacts in villages, schools, prisons, and workplaces.

-Collaborate with mineworkers’ unions to identify presumptive TB cases among miners, ex-miners, and peri-mining communities and ensure eligible individuals receive treatment.

-Collect sputum samples daily from individuals with presumptive TB symptoms (children, inmates, miners) and ensure samples are delivered to laboratories for analysis.

-Support annual TB screening using mobile x-ray vans and GeneXpert machines.

-Follow up on sputum results and ensure clients receive their results promptly.

-Facilitate linkage to care and treatment for individuals diagnosed with TB.

-Work with Village Health Workers (VHWs) to ensure adherence to TB treatment and support completion of care.

-Accurately document and report TB-related data and share it with health facilities and TB supervisors.

-Participate in monthly health center meetings with VHWs in the designated catchment areas.

Required Qualifications

-COSC/LGCSE certificate.

-Experience working in public health programs in Lesotho.

-Strong communication skills in both Sesotho and English.

-Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills.

-Ability and willingness to travel across Lesotho, including remote and hard-to-reach areas on foot or horseback.
