Overview

The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation (DTHF) is seeking a dedicated and responsible Driver to join our team on a fixed-term contract, ending on 30 April 2026. This role involves operating mobile clinics to designated community sites, maintaining project vehicles and equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services. DTHF is a non-profit organization committed to excellence in research, treatment, training, and prevention of HIV and related infections in Southern Africa.

Key Responsibilities

-Drive the Mobile Clinic truck daily to pre-arranged community sites.

-Oversee arrival and departure procedures, including the packing and unpacking of equipment.

-Register clients who access mobile services using the Piper biometric client registration system.

-Perform maintenance on all Mobile Clinic Project equipment and vehicles.

-Ensure routine and annual servicing of project vehicles and arrange for generator servicing as required.

-Capture and file project documents and perform administrative duties as needed.

-Plan and execute logistical operations to support the mobile clinic services.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a driver.
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Experience in routine maintenance of small to medium commercial vehicles.
  • Proven ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in a team.
  • Excellent time management and a diligent approach to safety.
  • No traffic violations or offenses.
  • Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends.
