Overview

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition is implementing the Wool and Mohair Value Chain Competitiveness Project (WaMCoP), a 7-year initiative aimed at enhancing the economic and climate resilience of wool and mohair value chain stakeholders, with a focus on improving livelihoods for farmers, including women and youth. We are seeking qualified and experienced Drivers to provide essential transportation services for project staff and official materials across the Central and Districts.


Job Summary

Reporting to the Administration Officer, the Drivers will:

-Safely transport project staff on official trips.

-Collect and deliver official materials.

-Conduct basic vehicle maintenance and ensure daily roadworthiness.

-Maintain accurate logbook records of vehicle use and mileage.

-Report servicing needs in a timely manner.

-Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, both inside and out.


Responsibilities

Transportation Services: Provide reliable driving services for project staff on official matters.

Material Handling: Collect and deliver official materials as required.

Vehicle Safety: Conduct daily checks to ensure vehicles are roadworthy.

Record Keeping: Update the vehicle logbook daily, ensuring accurate recording of mileage.

Maintenance Reporting: Report any servicing needs promptly to the Administration Officer.

Vehicle Cleanliness: Wash and maintain the vehicle’s interior and exterior daily.


Qualifications and Skills

Educational Requirement: COSC or LGCSE or GCE, with a minimum of 5 years’ work experience as a Driver.

Licensing: Must hold a valid driver’s licence with at least five years of driving experience.

Driving Record: Excellent driving record and must have passed a driving assessment test.

Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Language Skills: Proficient in both official languages.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, stakeholders, and donors.

Additional Advantage: A Certificate in Proficiency is an added benefit.
