Overview

The World Bank Group is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Team Assistant to join its Lesotho Country Office. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the World Bank’s mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting sustainable development. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and Senior Executive Assistant while interacting with various stakeholders, including government officials, consultants, and external organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational and Administrative Support

-Utilize desktop processing skills to produce complex reports, presentations, charts, and figures following World Bank standards.

-Input and manage project data in the central database.

-Ensure effective processing of project documents and directives.

-Draft correspondence, including standard letters, memos, and meeting minutes.

-Maintain and retrieve electronic and paper project files.

Information Management and Client Interaction

-Respond to internal and external queries professionally.

-Maintain and update distribution lists, contacts, and team documents.

-Coordinate with service units and liaise with teams locally and internationally.

-Track and report on team operational activities.

Time Management & Logistics Planning

-Manage scheduling, priorities, and anticipated changes effectively.

-Track project milestones and coordinate related tasks.

-Assist in event planning, including conferences, workshops, and negotiations.

Other Duties

-Serve as a backup for other administrative staff.

-Occasionally perform analytical tasks as requested.

-Carry out additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements & Skills

Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience in a large international, service, or private sector organization.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

-Strong administrative and organizational skills.

-Ability to pass World Bank Group proficiency tests for English language and computer applications.

-Experience with a multilateral or bilateral organization is an advantage.

-Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks.

-Proficient in English (written and spoken); knowledge of French is an advantage.
