Position Overview:
As a Tunnel Forklift Driver, you will play a crucial role in supporting forklift requirements within the department. Reporting to the Processing Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, contributing to a well-organized and productive work environment.
Key Performance Areas:
- Execute daily forklift checklist at the beginning of each shift
- Operate forklift in accordance with prescribed operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS ACT)
- Uphold a good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Maintain high standards of 5S, housekeeping, and hygiene in and around the forklift area
- Safely transport filled palletainers to specified cold rooms
- Supply empty palletainers to the staging area
- Remove waste from behind the tunnel and manage used palletainer liners
- Ensure an adequate supply of palletainers for production in the processing hall
- Supply rework materials to the designated rework area
- Communicate effectively with operators regarding any changeovers
Experience & Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in a Food Manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
- Valid Forklift License
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with the Labour Relations Act
- Understanding of food safety compliance
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to engage at all levels
